Position Summary
The Medical Assistant plays an important role in creating a smooth, efficient, and positive experience for every patient. This position supports physicians and licensed healthcare providers in the delivery of medical and cosmetic dermatology services involving the skin, hair, nails, and overall aesthetic care.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Preparing examination and procedure rooms
- Greeting and assisting patients throughout their visit
- Obtaining and accurately documenting patient information
- Pulling, maintaining, and verifying patient charts and documentation
- Updating and maintaining electronic medical records (EMR)
- Assisting providers with medical and cosmetic procedures
- Communicating professionally and effectively with patients, providers, and team members
- Ensuring patients receive timely and compassionate care
- Cleaning, sterilizing, organizing, and maintaining treatment areas and equipment
- Managing inventory and supplies
- Following established protocols, safety procedures, and infection-control standards
- Maintaining patient confidentiality at all times
Qualifications
Preferred:
- Minimum of one year of Medical Assistant experience
- Previous experience in a dermatology or specialty medical practice is a plus
Certifications:
- Certificate of Completion from a Medical Assistant program preferred
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification preferred
- BLS certification preferred
Certifications are preferred but not required.
