Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and other meal prep. Set up workstations and ingredients so that food can be prepared according to recipes. Undertake basic cooking duties, such as reducing sauces and parboiling food. Prepare simple dishes, such as salads and entrees.
Need to be able to read and have basic math skills. There should be some experience in working in a restaurant environment.

- Wash, peel, chop, and prepare fruits, vegetables, and other ingredients according to recipe and portion guidelines.
- Assist chefs and cooks in preparing menu items, sauces, and side dishes.
- Measure and assemble ingredients for recipes, maintaining accuracy and consistency.
- Ensure all food prep areas, tools, and equipment are clean, sanitized, and organized.
- Follow proper food handling and storage procedures to maintain quality and prevent contamination.
Monitor inventory and notify supervisors when supplies are low.
- Assist with receiving and storing deliveries as needed.
- Perform other kitchen duties as assigned by the chef or kitchen manager.
