Position Summary

The Assistant Dockmaster supports the daily operations of the marina, ensuring a high level of service as vessels enter and exit the facility. This role assists with dock operations, safety, and security, as well as the maintenance of docks, marina equipment, and supplies. The Assistant Dockmaster also helps coordinate the effective use of tow vessels to support overall marina operations.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Run daily marina operations, ensuring vessels entering and exiting the facility receive a high level of customer service while maximizing dock utilization and supporting safe mooring of transient vessels
  • Assist the Dockmaster in coordinating marina-related projects and developing daily worklists for the team 
  • Support the administration of daily dock operations, ensuring vessels entering and exiting the marina receive a high level of customer service while maximizing operational efficiency and proper dock utilization 
  • Assist in securing and supporting transient vessels during arrival, docking, and departure 
  • Help oversee the security, cleanliness, and maintenance of the marina, including docks, buildings, office areas, landscaping, and equipment 
  • Maintain and update records related to marina revenues and expenses for administrative operations 
  • Perform minor repairs to docks and equipment and coordinate with appropriate vendors or service providers for larger maintenance needs 
  • Partner with HSE and Service Operations to ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety standards for employees, vendors, and customers 
  • Enforce standard operating procedures, marina rules, and regulations for all employees, vendors, and customers 
  • Coordinate slip assignments and monitor dock occupancy to ensure efficient use of marina space and accurate recordkeeping 
  • Assist with scheduling and dispatching line handlers and tow vessels to support daily marina operations and vessel movements
  • Serve as a point of contact for customers, addressing inquiries, coordinating services, and resolving issues to ensure a positive marina experience
  • Follow company, industry, and best practices related to safety, including proper equipment use, PPE, and incident reporting

Education, Work Experience, Licenses, and Certificates
