Brown & Brown is seeking aĀ Business Development SpecialistĀ to join our growing team in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.   

The Assistant Sales Professional will play a crucial role in supporting our sales efforts by assisting a senior sales staff member, engaging with clients, managing administrative tasks, and contributing to the overall growth of our business. The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator, organized, and passionate about delivering exceptional customer experiences.Ā 

   

How You Will Contribute:   

  • Actively engage with prospects (via phone, email, in-person, and on social media) to promote and sell products, upselling and cross-selling where appropriate.Ā 

  • Create sales proposals, quotes, contracts, and other documentation as needed.Ā 

  • Identify new leads, conducting market research, and qualifying leads to reach out to and schedule meetings with. Ā 

  • Develop a deep understanding of our products/services and stay updated on industry trends to effectively communicate value propositions to clients.Ā 

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of prospect interactions, sales activities, and other relevant information in the customer relationship management (CRM) system.Ā 

  • Attend carrier and industry meeting and seminars to foster relationships and remain knowledgeable of industry standards.Ā 

  • Identify, design, and implement new business sales strategies and initiativesĀ

Skills & Experience to be Successful:  

  • High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or a related field is a plus.Ā 

  • Proven experience in sales, customer service, or a related role.Ā 

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.Ā 

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients.Ā 

  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management abilities.Ā 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.Ā 

  • Self-motivated and goal-oriented, with a passion for achieving and exceeding targets.Ā 

  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and a fast-paced work environment.Ā

Required:Ā 

  • 215 License within 6 months of employment Ā 

  • This Position requires routine travel which may require the teammate to drive their own vehicle or a rental vehicle.Ā  Acceptable results of a Motor Vehicle Record report at the time of hire and periodically thereafter, and maintenance of minimum acceptable insurance coverages are requirementsof this position.Ā
