ChildNet, Inc. is a private, not-for-profit community-based care (CBC) agency servicing Broward and Palm Beach County. We are contracted with the State of Florida, Department of Children and Families, to provide case management support to abused, abandoned, and neglected children. ChildNet is nationally accredited by the Council on Accreditation (COA) and employs over 600 staff at its location in Ft Lauderdale and West Palm Beach, Florida.
Essential Functions:
The items listed below are intended to provide an overview of the essential functions of the job. This is not an exhaustive list of all functions and responsibilities that the position may be required to provide.Â
- Provide DCM coaching and consultation for cases where the child is prescribed with psychotropic medications, which can include questions related to psychiatric appointments for children in care, managing and documenting medications, home visits, UF pre-consent reviews (as required).
- Ensure there is informed consent by parents or court orders in place if the parent is unavailable.
- Ensure initial and follow up DCF Medical Report Forms are completed in its entirety by prescribing MD.
- Participate in Baker Act MDT Staffing’s as needed to ensure continuity of medication.
- Complete monthly Psychotropic Medication Review Tool is completed per child.
- Ensure caregivers have a clear understanding in the delivery of a child’s prescribed medication and any side effects which may occur; address and document any conflicting diagnoses.
- Train and educate ChildNet Staff on psychotropic medications and processes during Quarterly Certification Workshop Cycles.
- Stay informed via research and training of current issues related to psychotropic medications.
- Utilize FSFN to record relevant data and activities as appropriate; monitor FSFN Psych Med report for accuracy.
- Recognizing, respecting, and responding to the unique, culturally defined needs of others served.
SKILLS / REQUIREMENTS:
Years of Experience:
- One (1) year of experience in social services
 Education/Licenses/Certifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field
