Job DetailsJob Location: Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301JOB SUMMARY The R&D Business Systems Analyst (BSA) works directly with the leadership team and software engineers to shape, define, and rapidly prototype new ideas. This role is centered on quickly translating high-level concepts and problem statements into clear specifications that enable proof-of-concept development. Operating in an experimental, fast-moving environment, the BSA helps clarify intent, scope, and success criteria, enabling engineers to validate ideas quickly and iterate toward viable solutions. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Work closely with the key stakeholders and software developers to define, refine, and evolve R&D initiatives and software solutions. Lead discovery efforts including requirements elicitation, problem definition, and solution exploration in highly ambiguous problem spaces. Collaborate closely with development team during design and implementation to ensure shared understanding and rapid feedback loops. Create and maintain lightweight but effective documentation for systems, experiments, processes, and decisions. Support prototyping, proof-of-concept, and pilot initiatives, including defining success metrics and validation criteria. Facilitate and assist with User Acceptance Testing (UAT), exploratory testing, and validation of experimental features. Lead and facilitate meetings and working sessions; document outcomes, decisions, and action items. REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills with an ability to operate effectively in uncertainty. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to translate complex technical concepts for business audiences and vice versa. Self-driven and comfortable working independently with minimal direction, especially when information is incomplete or evolving. Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, experimental, and rapidly changing environment. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously. Experience working closely with software development teams and understanding modern application architectures. PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE Familiarity with Agile, Kanban, or other iterative software development practices. Technology-focused experience such as work with APIs, data platforms, cloud-based systems, or emerging technologies. Experience with SQL, NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB), or data analysis to support discovery and validation. Experience with User Acceptance Testing (UAT) or exploratory testing methodologies. Experience using tools such as Jira, Confluence, or similar collaboration and requirements-management platforms. Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance industry experience.
