SCOPE OF WORKÂ
In this role, you will directly impact estimating accuracy and bid development by performing document reviews, quantity takeoffs, and coordination with vendors and internal teams. You will support the estimating process by developing technical competency, ensuring accuracy in deliverables, and contributing to competitive proposals that align with Moss's operational capabilities and support successful project acquisition.Â

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIESÂ
Ensure safety considerations are built into project estimates, logistics, and site visitsÂ
Perform document reviews to understand plans, specifications, and the scope of workÂ
Draft RFIs; ensure clarity, accuracy, and alignment with supervisorsÂ
Maintain organization of project documentsÂ
Capture meeting minutes, action items, and distribute within 24 hours of meetingsÂ
Compile estimates, summaries, qualifications, and assumptions in line with templates and standardsÂ
Assemble addenda, project summaries, storyboards, and backup information for bid deliverablesÂ
Perform accurate, detailed quantity takeoffs and verify consistency with drawings and bid strategyÂ
Support memo and basis of bid preparation by collecting and organizing relevant inputsÂ
Ensure the established bid and bid review process is followedÂ
Prepare and distribute pre-reads 24 hours prior to meetingsÂ
Send pricing requests to vendors and subcontractors promptly after kickoffÂ
Assign and track due dates for vendor/sub responses; escalate delays as neededÂ
Support pricing review (leveling, checklist compliance, identifying gaps)Â
Collect and analyze vendor/sub data to support accurate scope coverage and reduce riskÂ
Collaborate with Leads and Managers to align on bid philosophy and strategyÂ
Engage with vendors/subs professionally, maintaining accurate contact data and NDAsÂ
Participate actively in kickoff meetings, site visits, weekly check-ins, and review sessionsÂ
Support effective team communication by issuing recaps, logs, and status updatesÂ
Performs other duties as assigned.Â
JOB REQUIREMENTSÂ
Basic understanding of estimating processes, construction drawings, safety, and quality standardsÂ
Understands assigned tasks, how they support estimate development, and when to escalate issuesÂ
Basic understanding of scope budgets and vendor/sub pricing inputsÂ
Knowledge of standard Estimating toolsÂ
Drafts clear RFIs, meeting notes, and summariesÂ
Performs accurate takeoffs and data entry in estimating toolsÂ
Identifies data gaps and escalates potential risks quicklyÂ
Builds working relationships with vendors, subs, and internal peersÂ
Completes deliverables with accuracy and attention to detail; seeks clarification when neededÂ
Demonstrate a learning mindset; seek feedback and incorporate guidanceÂ
Adjusts to schedule changes, addenda, or evolving project requirementsÂ
Open to coaching; adopts learning from Leads and ManagersÂ
Troubleshoots document or data inconsistencies with support, escalating appropriatelyÂ
Bachelor's degree in STEM, and/or 1+ years in estimating or project management roles (internships included)Â
