You’ll independently turn custom concepts into production-ready documentation, working closely with engineers and the shop to keep projects moving quickly and accurately. The Draftsman II independently produces accurate and moderately complex 2D drawings and 3D models that are manufacturable and aligned with company standards. This role plays a critical part in maintaining fast turnaround times on custom orders while ensuring manufacturability and documentation accuracy. This position requires strong SolidWorks proficiency, practical manufacturing knowledge, and the ability to translate customer requirements into clear, buildable designs. Draftsman II team members also contribute to programming shop equipment and identifying opportunities for improved efficiency and standardization. CUSTOM PRODUCT DESIGN Own moderately complex custom design variations from concept to release Modify assemblies and components while maintaining product quality Ensure designs are manufacturable and aligned with standards Assist with product validation DOCUMENTATION CONTROL & QUALITY Manage drawing revisions and documentation updates Check drawings for completeness, accuracy, and standards compliance Support ECR processes and maintain documentation integrity PROGRAMMING & MANUFACTURING SUPPORT Program shop tools for standard production jobs (plasma, CNC, press brake, etc.) Troubleshoot programming issues and improve efficiency Collaborate directly with shop personnel to resolve drawing discrepancies PROCESS IMPROVEMENT & MENTORSHIP Identify opportunities to improve drafting workflows and standards Support training of Draftsman I Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within engineering   CORE VALUES INTEGRITY Exhibits honesty and integrity Maintains appropriate personal behavior Able to admit mistakes and learn from them TRUST Honors commitments Maintains regular attendance Requires minimal supervision EXCELLENCE Demonstrates sound and accurate judgement Demonstrates a clear understanding of the company's mission statement and values Accepts and uses feedback to improve performance RESPECT Respects the decisions of co-workers within the organization Uses appropriate speech, language and tones with others Does NOT gossip or involve themselves in the personal lives of co-workers TEAM WORK Works cooperatively in group/team environments Proactively offers assistance and support to co-workers Places the importance of team achievement above individual achievement Qualifications Associate degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related field OR Equivalent experience in a manufacturing environment Educational Requirements: Associate’s degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related field OR Equivalent experience in a manufacturing environment Experience: 2–5+ years SolidWorks in manufacturing Programming exposure preferred Optional but helpful: CSWP certification Sheet metal specialization
