JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist line start up by performing partial line start up tests on the floor
  • Retrieve samples and perform all required Quality Control inspections according to defined schedule and test procedures
  • Perform Raw Material Testing according to the Raw Material test procedures
  • Data collection and entry via computer into QC database
  • Release the raw material SILOS in D365 enterprise system
  • Send Raw Material Test Results report daily 
  • Reclassify scrap material in D365 enterprise system
  • Responsible for re-testing and containing rejected and potentially defective products
  • Assist with internal audits and line process audits. 
  • Support Work Instruction creating and updating 
  • Assist with coverage on other shifts, as needed (nights/weekends). 
  • Support investigations into Root Cause and Corrective Actions

LEADERSHIP: 

  • Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, and Maintenance teams to provide real-time data and technical insights that drive process improvements and root-cause analysis.
  • Lead by example in the strict adherence to company documentation and safety protocols; actively intervene to correct PPE non-compliance and procedural deviations.

EQUIPMENT KNOWLEDGE: 

  • Excellent working knowledge of manufacturing, math, electronics, computers, and ergonomics. 
  • Knowledge of plastic extrusion (PET) resin background. Sheet extrusion highly desirable. 
  • Ability to interact with vendors. 
  • Understanding of process improvements and Lean principles. 
  • Six sigma skills a plus. 

 ROLE REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Associate degree or higher preferred.
  • 2-3 years of Quality Testing and/or Inspection experience preferred.
  • Interpersonal skills, analytical, problem solving, and statistical analysis. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively with Shift Supervisors, Lead Technicians, Line Technicians, and all other personnel in a professional manner
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook), basic mathematical calculations, computer data entry, and technical report writing.
  • Ability to work in an ever-changing work environment. 
  • Have a good understanding of material flow and operations sequence. 
  • Prior knowledge with SPC software is plus

 PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 

  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. periodically
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to use both arms and hands
  • Ability to bend and stoop frequently
  • Occasionally climbing stairs.
