Position Summary

 The Leasing Agent has full responsibility for site marketing and leasing, application processing, review and documentation, program compliance, wait list process, and unit-file maintenance.   

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet prospective residents, conduct property tours, and highlight community features and benefits.
  • Respond promptly to leasing inquiries via phone, email, and in-person.
  • Process rental applications, conduct background checks, and prepare lease agreements.
  • Maintain accurate records of leasing activity, traffic, and follow-ups.
  • Assist with marketing efforts, including online listings, social media, and community outreach.
  • Ensure model units and common areas are clean and presentable.
  • Support resident retention efforts and respond to service requests or concerns.
  • Collaborate with the property management team to meet occupancy and revenue goals.
  • Performs duties in compliance with all applicable fair housing, federal, state, and local statutes, and in compliance with all loan, grant, or program requirements
  • Participate in training in order to comply with new or existing laws.

 

 

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of previous low-income housing property leasing
  • Previous leasing, sales, or customer service experience is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and property management software (e.g., Yardi).
  • Ability to work weekends and flexible hours as needed.
  • Professional demeanor and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.  
  • Present self in a neat, clean, and professional manner at all times.
  • Regular attendance and punctuality are mandatory.
  • Intermediate level experience in computer skills, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and community software applications.

 

Dress Code: Business Casual

As a representative of our community, RMC staff are expected to always maintain a professional appearance.  Clothing must be clean, pressed, and free of logos or casual elements (e.g., jeans, sneakers, t-shirts).  Personal grooming and hygiene should reflect a polished and professional image.

 

 

Essential Function:   Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation:

 

  • Comfortable working in a professional office environment.  This role routinely uses standard office equipment, such as a computer, photocopier, and telephones. 
  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access filing cabinets, office equipment, etc.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position more than 50% of the time. 
  • Exposure to outdoor weather conditions on a regular basis.
  • Occasionally required to lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Occasional evening and weekend work may be required based on the property’s and/or business needs. 
  • Must possess a positive attitude and professional demeanor with all staff, residents, and vendors.
