Position Summary
The Warehouse Supervisor / Driver plays a dual leadership and operational role to ensure the efficient operation of warehouse activities while also serving as a key driver responsible for safe and timely equipment deliveries. This role oversees warehouse staff, coordinates scheduling, ensures accurate inventory management, and maintains high safety and compliance standards. Additionally, the role requires operating company vehicles to deliver and set up DME equipment at patient homes or healthcare facilities, contributing directly to workflow efficiency, customer satisfaction, and overall business success.
The WS/D acts as a liaison between warehouse teams, logistics personnel, and upper management to streamline day-to-day functions, resolve operational challenges, and maintain compliance with OSHA, DOT, HIPAA, FDA, and infection control regulations.
 Key Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations (Supervisory)
- Supervise and coordinate daily warehouse activities including receiving, stocking, staging, and dispatching medical equipment.
- Assign tasks and delivery routes to drivers and warehouse staff.
- Ensure equipment is cleaned, sanitized, inspected, and properly tagged in accordance with company and regulatory standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment (compliant with OSHA, DOT, and HIPAA standards).
- Conduct inventory control, cycle counts, audits, and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Manage equipment returns, repairs, and preventive maintenance workflows.
- Prepare operational reports and documentation including delivery logs, maintenance records, cleaning logs, and inventory reports.
Driving & Delivery Responsibilities
- Safely operate company vehicles to deliver, install, and pick up oxygen tanks, mobility devices, hospital beds, and other DME.
- Perform in-home or facility-based equipment setup, along with basic patient education.
- Follow established delivery schedules and optimized routes.
- Complete delivery/pickup documentation using company systemsÂ
- Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections and report vehicle maintenance issues.
- Adhere to DOT regulations and all traffic laws.
Leadership & Team Training
- Lead, train, and mentor warehouse team members on policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
- Conduct performance feedback and assist management in coaching, scheduling, and evaluations.
- Promote teamwork, accountability, professionalism, and high service standards.
Safety & Compliance
- Maintain and enforce compliance with HIPAA, FDA, OSHA, DOT, and infection control standards.
- Conduct safety meetings, warehouse inspections, and equipment checks.
- Ensure adherence to proper lifting techniques and secure loading procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- 2+ years of experience in warehouse or logistics (preferably within DME or healthcare).
- 1+ year in a supervisory or lead warehouse role.
- Ability to lift 50–100 lbs. frequently.
- Basic knowledge of inventory management systems, route planning, and warehouse safety protocols.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior DME or medical equipment handling experience.
- Experience in dual warehouse/driver role.
- Forklift certification (or ability to obtain).
- Knowledge of DOT, OSHA, HIPAA compliance requirements.
- Experience using route/logistics software Transport Ace.
- Â Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
