Job Description Summary: 

Experienced staff accountant that has an understanding of healthcare and performs a variety of tasks including, but not limited to, processing of monthly closing journal entries, reconciling and maintenance of general ledger accounts, maintaining the fixed asset system and proper accounting for capital assets, processing and maintaining statistical information, processing and distributing of financial reports and working as finance liaisons with departments.

In addition to core accounting duties, the Staff Accountant supports treasury functions, including daily cash monitoring, bank reconciliation, maintaining cash position reports, assisting with cash flow , and supporting banking transactions and documentation. The role works closely with the Accounting Supervisor and cross functional teams to ensure timely and accurate financial information.

Position Qualifications/Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or recent relevant work experience required,

Certifications/Licenses:

  • Valid State Driver’s License for travel to satellite offices and offsite meetings. Compliance with the company Driver Safety Operations and Motor Vehicle Records Check Policy is required.

Previous Experience:

  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in accounting
  • Healthcare experience preferred
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Preferred experience with Workday accounting software
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Advanced Excel skills, analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and creatively
  • Strong ability to maintain confidentiality and experience with SOX compliance audits
  • Self-motivated and well composed with the ability to work in a deadline driven environment
  • Required competencies include attention to detail, demonstrated ability to multi- task and balance multiple projects and payrolls at once, comfort with analyzing large amounts of data, problem solving ability and the ability to operate in a fast-paced and highly confidential setting with minimal supervision

Ability to build an engaging culture of quality, performance effectiveness and operational excellence through best practices, strong business and political acumen, collaboration, and partnerships, as well as a positive employee, physician, and community relations.
  • Self-Management: Effectively manages own time, conflicting priorities, self, stress, and professional development. Self-motivated and self-starter with ability work independently with limited supervision. Ability to work remotely effectively as required. 
  • Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-site environment with demonstrated ability to juggle competing priorities and demands from a variety of stakeholders and sites.
  • Leadership and Mentoring: Effectively lead and facilitate group discussions, coach, mentor, motivate, and engage others to align to a common goal. Ability to effectively lead projects from inception through implementation and assessment.
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook required, Advanced use of Excel (i.e. sorting, pivot tables, graphs, etc. Experience with Centricity and/or Onco EMR is a plus
