MISSION CONTRIBUTION: 

To assist in the maintenance of the South Ops campus and other locations as assigned through the efficient and effective application of custodial maintenance procedures, in accordance with the desired image.

 

SUMMARY:

Under the direct supervision of the Support & Recognition Manager, is responsible for assisting in the custodial maintenance of assigned facilities in compliance with our image and safety standards.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Ensures and provides open and honest communication that encourages that all team members do not place themselves, donors or customers in harm’s way.
  2. Communicates and supports Goodwill’s drug-free workplace, strives for and maintains a positive work environment following Goodwill’s Core Values and Guiding Principles.
  3. Understands represents Goodwill’s zero tolerance for harassment, substance abuse, workplace violence, failure to report medical incidents (work or non-work related), and theft or other related offenses.
  4. Maintains the interior and exterior of the assigned facilities in compliance with our image and safety standards.
  5. Cleans interior offices, classrooms, break areas, and lobby.
  6. Dusts, vacuums, empties trash, cleans windows and tables.
  7. Cleans and stocks restrooms.
  8. Performs custodial work utilizing sound safety practices (i.e. lifting, use of equipment, floor signs, etc.) and reports accidents to team leaders.
  9. Transports trash to compactor.
  10. Inspect the exterior of premises, keep sidewalks swept and blown of debris, grounds and parking lot clear.
  11. Monitors vendor services, landscape maintenance, window service, pest control, and property sweep.
  12. Maintains the custodial checklist.
  13. Inventories custodial supplies and equipment.  Notify the TLC when needed to reorder.
  14. Reports damaged or non-working equipment to team leaders in a timely manner.
  15. Responsible for performing assigned duties within the framework of our Guiding Principles:

  1. May be asked to participate in activities outside of Goodwill.
  2. Attends in-service and related training as assigned by Team Leader Coach.
  3. Performs other duties as assigned by team leader.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Knowledge of custodial floor and carpet cleaning, techniques and procedures. 
  2. Knowledge and familiarization with custodial equipment, supplies and associated hazards.
  3. Able to develop and maintain effective working relationship with Team Leader, Team Members, Customers and Clients. 
  4. Able to read cleaning supply directions and chemical mixtures and perform basic math skills.
  5. Basic customer service skills.

 

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. This position is safety-sensitive and requires drug testing.
  2. This role may require access to facility keys and alarm systems.
  3. Must possess a valid driver’s license, appropriate insurance coverage and a privately-owned reliable means of transportation to travel to assigned locations.
  4. A personal vehicle must be available for use in the performance of job duties.
  5. Available and willing to work flexible days and hours including evenings and weekends as needed.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Able to stand, bend and reach.
  2. Able to lift, push, pull up to forty (40) pounds with no support regularly. Over forty (40) pounds request for additional team member assistance as needed.
  3. Stand, bend, reach, and walk extensively. 
  4. Able to perform tasks that require repetitive motion. Manual dexterity is required.

  6. Image – Personal image, keeps work area/location clean, safe, organized
  7. Work Integrity – Follows established procedures and processes donation timely with a sense of urgency.
