Position Description
Leads internal continuous quality improvement efforts. Reactively conducts investigations of shop floor quality issues. Proactively & systematically performs focused quality incident investigations on top issues.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Respond to quality excursions, determine disposition of suspect materials, organize containment activities, conduct follow-up as required.
· Assemble teams of experts, determine root cause of top failure modes, determine and implement corrective actions, and conduct follow-up to ensure compliance.
· Maintain quality system documentation for processes and procedures.
· Work with supplier on Vendor Rejected Material Recovery
· Perform laboratory analyses – conduct dimensional studies, material studies, gage studies, etc.
· Lead quality system gap-closing projects, conduct quality management system audits.
· Collect and statistically analyze data in support of quality initiatives and other projects.
· Conduct process audits based on critical to quality specifications.
· Other tasks as assigned
Key Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED Required
Associates degree in technical field preferred.
At least one (1) year of quality systems/project experience preferred.
Minimum of one (1) year core employment service required.
Must have working knowledge in the use of MS Office products (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Internet Explorer, and Outlook). MiniTab knowledge considered a plus.
Lean fundamentals or green belt training considered a plus.
Active involvement in continuous improvement initiatives (like Quality, Training, or Safety coordinator) a plus.
Must have demonstrated creativity and solid problem solving skills.
Must be able to read and understand engineering drawings, specifications, and process documentation.
Must be a team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Must be able to effectively build relationships with employees at all levels.
Must have excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills.
Must be flexible and able to work all hours including weekends and off shifts.
