Job DetailsJob Location: Fort Walton Beach, FL 32547Position Type: Full TimeSalary Range: $18.00 - $20.00 HourlyAmerican Medical Group / Emerald Coast Infectious Diseases are growing again! We are looking to add Certified Clinical/Registered Medical Assistant's for both administrative and clinical tasks to support physicians, advanced practice providers, and nursing staff in our busy Gastroenterology department in Fort Walton Beach. The CCMA is responsible for assisting with patient care, preparing patients for examinations and procedures, maintaining accurate medical records, coordinating referrals and testing, and ensuring efficient patient flow throughout the clinic. This position plays a key role in delivering exceptional patient care while promoting a positive patient experience. Key Responsibilities: Welcome and prepare patients for office visits and procedures. Obtain and document vital signs, medical histories, medication lists, allergies, and chief complaints. Assist providers during examinations and minor procedures as needed. Provide patient education regarding medications, treatment plans, dietary recommendations, and procedure preparation instructions. Respond to patient questions and concerns and escalate clinical issues to providers when appropriate. Prepare examination rooms ensuring cleanliness and proper stocking of supplies. Administer medications and injections as authorized by state regulations and provider orders. Assist with scheduling and coordination of diagnostic testing, laboratory work, imaging studies, endoscopic procedures, and specialty referrals. Monitor and manage provider in-baskets, patient messages, and prescription refill requests. Preferred: Experience in Gastroenterology, Internal Medicine, Family Practice, or Specialty Care. Knowledge in GI procedures including colonoscopy, upper endoscopy (EGD), capsule endoscopy, and liver disease management is desirable. BLS/CPR Certification.
