Overview

A respected surgical services team in Fort Walton Beach, Florida is seeking an experienced Operating Room Nurse Manager (RN) to provide clinical and operational leadership for a Level II Trauma Center with 10 main ORs and 2 CVOR suites.
This position offers the opportunity to lead a dynamic, high-performing team of over 60 professionals dedicated to patient safety, surgical precision, and collaborative care.

The ideal leader will bring a balance of technical expertise, operational insight, and people-first management to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality perioperative services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct day-to-day operations and staff management within the surgical services department.

  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and perioperative leadership to maintain quality and workflow efficiency.

  • Ensure adherence to infection control, regulatory standards, and surgical safety protocols.

  • Support recruitment, training, and professional development of OR nurses and technologists.

  • Monitor productivity, staffing ratios, and supply utilization to align with budget goals.

  • Lead quality initiatives, rounding, and continuous improvement programs.

  • Maintain effective communication and foster a culture of teamwork across all perioperative units.

  • Participate in capital planning and advocate for technology and process enhancements.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Active RN license (Florida or Compact State)

  • Associate Degree in Nursing (BSN preferred)

  • At least 3 years of recent acute care OR leadership experience

  • BLS certification (within 30 days of hire)

Preferred:

  • CNOR or CNML certification

  • Experience managing multiple OR suites in a trauma or tertiary setting

  • Strong communication, organization, and mentoring skills

Compensation & Benefits

  • Hourly Rate: $45.50 – $53.80/hour (commensurate with experience)
