Murray Equipment, Inc. is seeking a qualified individual for a career opportunity in CNC machining. This person will operate CNC MACHINES on 2nd Shift or our Alliance Tool & Precision Machining division. This person will be a dedicated team player, responsible for the efficient production of quality machined components meeting all production requirements. Successful candidates will be motivated, self-directed/ self-starters, mechanically inclined, and well organized. A successful person is detail-oriented and dependable, can follow instructions and consistently produce good work. 

2nd shift receives an extra $2.60/hr. shift premium and works FOUR 10-HR DAYS! Monday - Thursday . Hours are 2:00pm- 12:30am

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

  • Receives written and/or verbal instructions
  • Loads raw castings and other parts into a computer controlled machine center for processing.
  • Willing to accept and follow all company rules and policies.
  • Pass a general machinist knowledge test and measurement test.
  • Knowledge of proper use and care of inspection equipment, (I.e.: micrometers, calipers, indicators, plug and ring gages.)
  • Removes parts de-burrs them, and completes a check of critical dimensions upon completion of the machine cycle.  
  • Records time and materials used in a prompt and accurate manner.
  • Recognizes and change dull tooling.
  • Makes appropriate work offsets.
  • Works with extremely close tolerances
  • Ability to perform setups following work documented procedures.
  • Completes quality parts within established rate guidelines.
  • Maintains a good work ethic.
  • Maintains good communication with supervisors and management.
  • Records scrap materials using established procedures.
  • Maintains a safe and orderly work area.
  • Receives direction from Managers and Supervisors.
  • Receives work instruction from higher level machinists
  • Consults with Supervision, Level 2 and Level 3 Machinists to identify quality problems and resolve production issues when needed. 
  • Interacts with Production Manager, Supervisors, QC personnel and others in a respectful and responsible manner.
  • Judges the quality of the product that they complete.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Education/Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Technical or Trade school for CNC machining preferred but not required. 
  • Comfortable with making correct choices within a high degree of complexity
  • Prior CNC machining required.

Physical Requirements: 

  • Lifting up to 70 pounds
  • Visual inspection of work
  • Written and oral communication
  • Able to bend, twist, push & pull
  • Capable of standing/walking more than 80% of work time
  • 100% of working time (except for assigned breaks) is spent on the production floor
  • 2nd shift works FOUR 10-HR DAYS & hours are 2:00pm- 12:30am (30 min. lunch) Monday - Thursday
