Project Manager - Key Millwork 



Overview 

The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing assigned projects from award through closeout, ensuring they are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role manages contract administration, coordinates production and installation, maintains project documentation, and building strong relationships with clients, vendors, and project partners.



Project Management 

  • Monitors project performance on assigned projects to ensure that project is completed within established project schedule and key milestone dates, project budget, and with Quality standards in complete compliance with all plans, specifications and shop drawings.
  • Attend periodic job progress meetings with superintendents, trade contractors, and suppliers to review scheduled project progress, performance, shop drawing requirements and material deliveries to ensure the attainment of project objectives, scheduled completion and timely delivery.
  • Cultivates a working relationship with all project personnel to encourage a cooperative environment, team effort, and professional approach.



Operations

  • Reviews, analyzes and interprets bid documents, plans and specifications for assigned projects in a manner that ensures the complete transfer of awarded project within contract quotes.
  • Inspects and monitors jobsites periodically to identify irregularities and ensures that construction progress conforms to plans and specifications (or as required by the Contract), quality and performance requirements.
  • Coordinates with the Production Manager to appraise existing or anticipated technical construction obstacles weekly and implements alternative solutions to overcome problems in a manner which maintains established schedules and budgets.
  • Abides by GC safety program routinely to conform with government regulations and standards as well as company policy and procedures.
  • Oversees project estimating in a manner that enables the attainment of awarded project within contract quotes
  • Ability to understand architectural/construction documents and create bids for casework/millwork.
  • Maintain contract changes through proposal requests.
  • Coordinate shop drawing submittals and material purchase process with production manager.



Administration and Business Relations

  • Reviews project plans and specifications and project scope of work for completeness of documentation in accordance with corporate standard operating procedures.
  • Develops, processes and maintains daily, weekly and monthly project schedules.
  • Identifies, recommends, and prepares change order(s) in a manner that the estimated work is installed within quoted cost, time and schedule.
  • Prepares/coordinates subcontracts and purchase orders in accordance with project budgets, specifications, project estimates, as well as corporate policies, procedures and objectives.
  • Maintain job cost reports, track for billing.
  • Corresponds with and maintains accurate and updated project documentation among all applicable project representatives in a manner that establishes clear project orientation and control.
  • Facilitates and monitors project close-out and any other documentation which may be required under the terms of the contract documents.
  • Cultivates new business relationships and maintains existing relationships with clients through monthly public relations activity and membership in professional, construction related organization, association or community group in order to identify new contracts and gain consideration in construction negotiations.



Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Proven experience as a Construction Project Manager, demonstrating successful project completions on time and within budget.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across various teams.
