Project Manager – Commercial Interiors

Drive Projects. Own the Outcome. Build Something That Lasts.

At Jack Laurie Group, we're looking for a Project Manager who is more than an organizer—we're looking for a driver.

Someone who attacks every project with urgency, takes ownership, removes obstacles before they become problems, and pushes work forward every single day. This isn't a role for someone who waits to be told what to do. It's for someone who naturally takes charge, holds themselves and others accountable, and enjoys winning.

If you thrive in a fast-paced construction environment, enjoy building relationships, solving problems, and driving projects from concept to completion, we'd like to talk with you.

Founded in 1950, Jack Laurie Group has grown into one of the Midwest's leading commercial interior contractors. We continue to expand because we hire people who care deeply about their work, their teammates, and our customers.

What You'll Do

As a Project Manager, you'll own your projects from estimating through closeout while serving as the driving force behind successful execution.

You'll:

  • Drive commercial interiors projects from bid through final completion with urgency and accountability.

  • Estimate negotiated and hard-bid projects while identifying opportunities to win profitable work.

  • Build strong relationships with customers, architects, general contractors, vendors, and field teams that create long-term partnerships.

  • Push projects forward by anticipating issues, making timely decisions, and eliminating roadblocks before they impact schedules.

  • Lead the financial success of every project by managing budgets, controlling costs, and protecting profitability.

  • Coordinate with operations, field leadership, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure projects stay on schedule.

  • Hold yourself and project partners accountable for commitments, quality, and execution.

  • Manage contracts, change orders, RFIs, submittals, project documentation, and closeout activities.

  • Deliver an exceptional customer experience from the first conversation through the final walkthrough.

  • Continuously look for ways to improve processes, strengthen relationships, and help Jack Laurie Group grow.

Who You Are

You're someone who naturally takes ownership.

You don't wait for problems—you solve them.

You communicate clearly, move quickly, and believe urgency is a competitive advantage. You enjoy being in the middle of the action, balancing multiple priorities while keeping customers and teammates informed.

You take pride in building strong relationships, delivering on your commitments, and seeing projects through to completion.

Most importantly, you're someone who gets things done.

What We're Looking For

  • Commercial construction project management experience preferred

  • Estimating experience with negotiated and hard-bid work

  • Knowledge of commercial interiors or Division 9 products preferred

  • Strong financial, budgeting, and cost management skills

  • Ability to prioritize, make decisions, and execute with urgency

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities

  • Self-motivated with a high level of accountability

  • Sales and customer development mindset

  • College degree preferred

  • Ability to pass a background check
