Pastry Chef

Sweetwater, the nation's #1 online retailer of musical instruments and pro audio gear, is looking to add a motivated, friendly, and experienced Pastry Chef to our Food Services Team in our Downbeat Diner! Preferably, candidates will have restaurant kitchen experience. We have an open kitchen, so customer service expectations are high. The diner team prepares food from scratch for approximately 2,000 employees and outside guests everyday. Ideal candidates will embrace our fast paced environment while upholding our high standards. Candidates must adhere to company policies, cooking methods, standard recipes, portion sizes and kitchen rules. Must be able to complete daily prep guidelines with speed and efficiency but be flexible with menu changes. 

The typical work week would be 6am-12pm Tuesday-Saturday.

Job Responsibilities:

Ideal candidates will prepare, bake, and decorate the following products:

• Breakfast pastries & breads
• Cookies
• Cheesecakes
• Gluten Sensitive Items
• Cakes
• Pies

Qualifications:

• Experience baking cookies, cakes, cheesecakes, breakfast pastries and pies
• Strong knowledge of commercial baking equipment
• Multitasking capabilities with great time management skills
• Ability to execute basic cooking/baking techniques
• High standards for organization and cleanliness
• Experience decorating various breakfast and dessert pastries
• Able to work well individually and in a team environment
• Able to lift at least 50 pounds
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
