Our Fort Wayne Manufacturing facility is looking for energetic and motivated individuals to join our team. This person will use their excellent attention to detail, print reading expertise, and assembly experience to contribute to PHD's on-time-delivery of high-quality Cylinder Products. As a Production Assembler in the Cylinder Cell, you will assemble PHD's diverse line of Cylinder Products utilizing engineering prints, hand tools, and testing equipment. This role requires strong print reading skills, mechanical aptitude, and a desire to work with your hands and learn something new every day. Knowledge gained, training completion, and time on the job are rewarded with scheduled raises, with a top pay of $21.81 and annual raises thereafter. Hours for this position are expected to be 7 AM to 3 PM during training. Once fully trained, this position will transition to 11 AM to 7 PM. Job Duties: Assemble and test all small bore and medium-duty cylinders Assemble and test all escapements Assemble all "Hand Build" and "Spinner" Piston and Rod Assemblies Port Control/Seal Bench and Bushing of Head Assemblies Operate the Telesis Engraving Machine Utilize hand tools such as screwdrivers and power tools such as torque wrenches to assemble units Practice safe work habits including use of PPE Read and interpret engineering drawings to assemble units to documented specification Work Environment: Time is spent on the manufacturing floor, which is climate controlled. Work is performed on the manufacturing floor around various types of machinery which include moving parts, chemicals, coolant, and by-products of material being formed. Some time is spent in front of a computer screen utilizing a keyboard and manipulating a mouse. Must be able to do shift work. One level with concrete floors, no steps, stairs, or inclines Rubber/foam mats are present in the Assembly area Physical Demands: Extensive periods of standing, walking, arm and hand motion, some foot motion Ability to safely lift up to 40 pounds regularly Manual dexterity, rotation of wrists Good visual ability Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent is required Experience with hand tools, power tools, and measuring tools is required Assembly skills required Print reading skills required
