Job Description Summary

AAM is seeking a Mechanical Engineering College Co-op at our Fort Wayne, IN facility. In this role, students will implement manufacturing techniques, processes, tooling, and machinery to maximize throughput. Establish control charting of critical features and processes; monitor results and determine machine and process capabilities and performance reliability. Manage the implementation of new processes, selection of equipment to be purchased, and time estimates. Identify optimal tooling for machining. Resolve issues with design, manufacturability, or build sequences.

Job Description

•Develop and evaluating manufacturing processes and requirements.
•Monitors equipment installations by advising crews.
•Meets production requirements by designing equipment modifications as needed
•Prepares equipment operators by conducting training; providing reference and support resources.
•Maintains process integrity by developing and updating policies, procedures, methods, and guidelines.
•Maintains equipment records by filing documents; updating equipment database.
•Protects organization value by keeping information confidential; cautioning others regarding potential breaches.
•All other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Education

  • Pursuing a degree fulltime in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes
  • Mechanical Aptitude
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Available to work 25-hours per week year-round
  • Graduation date of 2027 or earlier
  • Must be able to work in the US without Visa Sponsorship
