Job Description Summary:
 

Salary: $18.54 - $27.82 per hour

As a Water Resources Engineering Intern, you’ll work alongside our engineering team to tackle real-world challenges and gain hands-on experience with TRWD’s pipelines, pump stations, and reservoirs. Our solutions enrich and improve the quality of life for our communities. Interns have the opportunity to contribute to projects in transmission hydraulics, water supply planning, and H&H. You may calculate, study, design, or review solutions to our water resources, hydraulic, or energy challenges.


Job Description

 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Solving engineering problems

  • Field investigations

  • Review and documentation of pipeline hydraulic information

  • Participate in hydraulic modeling of transmission systems

  • Participate in Water Supply modeling

  • Development of pipeline operations tools

  • Assisting with water contract management

  • Participating with field visits related to TRWD locations and construction sites

  • Participating in system and/or flood monitoring

  • Collecting and organizing engineering data into usable formats

  • Reviewing project reports

  • GIS analysis

  • Communicating solutions to others through emails or memos

  • QA/QC of Water Supply tools and modeling results

  • Maintain familiarity with strategic District levels of service

  • Continuous improvement monitoring and innovation efforts

  • Perform other duties as required

Required Experience/Skills:

  • Less than one (1) year of experience

  • Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Desired Experience/Skills:

  • Experience with Power-BI, SQL, Python, or other data analysis tools

Required Education/Certification/License:

  • High School Diploma

  • Enrolled in an accredited 4-year college or university majoring in engineering, engineering sciences, or related field

  • Valid Texas driver’s license

Desired Education/Certification/License:

  • None
