We are developing the future of Army Aviation with the Bell Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA), part of the US Army鈥檚 Future Vertical Lift (FVL) modernization effort. We are also developing the Bell 525 Relentless and Bell's High-Speed Vertical Take-Off and Landing (HSVTOL) program, a next generation stop-fold aircraft.

These positions are onsite in Fort Worth, TX.聽

Aerospace Software Safety (across multiple seniority levels)

Bring your experience and ideas and help us develop, manage, and communicate the aircraft software safety methodology for a new military development program working with internal and external customers through identification and analysis of software contributions to potential hazards in design, operation, and maintenance.

Our team is at the forefront of emerging system safety techniques including Model Based Safety Analysis (MBSA) and Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).

Systems safety personnel with strong software backgrounds, software engineers with safety exposure, and software assurance engineers with safety background should apply.聽

This role will be an integral part of the team, working closely with customers and subcontractors. You鈥檒l be able to hone your technical abilities on significant engineering analyses, all while gaining experience in leadership and communication.

What you鈥檒l be doing as an Aerospace Software Safety Engineer聽

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Administer Software System Safety activities on assigned engineering design teams.聽

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Interface with the customer and teammates on software safety related issues.聽聽

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Monitor, investigate, and resolve issues relative to Software System Safety Engineering.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Perform Model Based Safety Analysis (MBSA) in coordination with air vehicle Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) efforts.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Represent Bell with military/industry at Software System Safety Working Groups and Aircraft Software Working Groups.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Provide guidance to Bell engineering teams and suppliers relative to Software System Safety Engineering.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Review Bell and supplier submitted documents relative to Software System Safety Engineering IAW AMCOM Regulation 385-17.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Influence air vehicle design to improve system and software safety features and design.

  • Ability to prioritize work, strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a team player mindset.
  • Excellent communicator, must be able to build and maintain effective relationships with customers, internal and external suppliers, and brief leaders/customers.
  • We are looking for inquisitive and driven engineers with a passion to innovate.聽

What you need to be successful:

  • Bachelor鈥檚 degree with a Major in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering.聽聽Advanced degrees will be considered as additional experience.聽聽Related degrees with relevant experience may be considered. 
  • Multiple levels will be considered for this position with a聽minimum of聽2 years' software safety experience required.聽
  • Work experience with either military System Safety Programs (MIL-STD-882) or civil System Safety Programs (SAE ARP4761).
  • Work experience or Strong Familiarity with military software system safety guidance (Joint Services Software System Safety Engineering Handbook, AMCOM Regulation 385-17).
  • Work experience with either software development (RTCA DO-178) or complex/programmable hardware development (RTCA DO-254).
