Bus Driver

The Bus Driver is responsible for safely transporting students from local schools to the William M. McDonald YMCA and from the YMCA to Camp Carter. This role ensures the safety, supervision, and timely arrival of all participants while providing a positive and professional experience for youth and families.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely transport students from designated schools to the William M. McDonald YMCA.
• Transport students from the William M. McDonald YMCA to YMCA Camp Carter as scheduled.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Maintain accurate attendance and transportation logs.
• Ensure students follow safety rules while boarding, riding, and exiting the vehicle.
• Communicate clearly with YMCA leadership regarding delays, incidents, or route changes.
• Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of the bus/vehicle.
• Follow all state, local, and YMCA transportation policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license .
• Clean driving record.
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening.
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Experience working with youth preferred.
• Strong communication and time-management skills.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit for extended periods.
• Ability to assist students entering and exiting the vehicle.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds if needed.

Schedule

• Monday–Friday (After School Hours & Camp Transfer Times)
• Part-Time

• Outdoor and varying weather conditions
