Education
H.S. Diploma or Equivalent Required

Experience
1 Year of Sterile Processing Experience Preferred

Licenses and Certifications
CSPDT - Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician Upon Hire Required Or

CBSPD - Certification Board for Sterile Processing & Distribution Upon Hire Required Or

CRCST - Certified Registered Central Service Technician Upon Hire Required

What You Will Do

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Performs scanning of instrument trays for location and creation of count sheet/label.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Demonstrates proper assembly technique for instrument trays.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Demonstrates wrapping/containing of instruments/tray.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Performs scanning of instrument trays to track location using the instrument tracking system.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Demonstrates decontamination process according to policy and procedure.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Cleaning of instruments manually

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Using automated cleaners, Ultrasonic washer, Instrument washer, Cart washer

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Performs tests and documents as directed to ensure proper operation of washers and Emergency Eyewash and Shower

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Demonstrates the proper loading technique for sterilization method.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Scans prepared items into correct sterilizer load.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Demonstrates procedure requirements needed to complete prior to sterilization operation.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Operates sterilizer according to the manufacturer鈥檚 instructions and the department鈥檚 policy.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Demonstrates procedure for removal of items following sterilization.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Demonstrates monitoring procedures.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Scan and deliver item to the proper storage place

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Effectively utilizes infection control concepts.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Effectively handles all chemical and cleaning agents used for cleaning, decontamination and sterilization of instruments and equipment.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Describes what to do in the event of a chemical spill or related injury.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Demonstrates safety precautions when operating washers and sterilizers.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Follows safe lifting techniques as well as proper techniques for handling instruments

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Demonstrates processing and distribution of special medical emergency carts, and Urology carts

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Assists Service Window customers according to established guidelines.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Monitors supplies as necessary.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Other duties as assigned
