If you're a strong communicator who enjoys helping people, navigating challenging conversations, and working toward goals, this could be a great fit — even if you've never worked in collections. We'll provide the training you need to learn the collections side of the role.
This is a fully onsite, Monday–Friday position with hands-on training and support from your team and leaders. With daytime hours and no nights or weekends, you'll have a predictable schedule and a collaborative environment where help is nearby when you need it.
As a Collections Specialist, you'll talk with consumers about their accounts, understand their circumstances, and help identify workable solutions for resolving outstanding balances. You'll use active listening, customer service, and negotiation skills to guide productive conversations while treating every consumer with professionalism and respect.
What You'll Do
- Communicate with consumers regarding delinquent accounts through inbound and outbound phone calls and other company-approved communication channels.
- Listen to each consumer's situation, answer questions, and help identify appropriate account resolution options.
- Build rapport with consumers while helping them work toward resolving account balances.
- Negotiate payment arrangements and other approved account resolution options.
- Process payments and accurately document consumer interactions and account activity.
You'll also learn how to accurately document account activity, verify required information, process payments, and follow company and regulatory guidelines. We provide training on the policies, systems, and compliance requirements you need to perform the role successfully.
You'll be a great fit if you:
- Communicate confidently and professionally by phone
- Enjoy solving problems and working toward goals
- Can handle difficult conversations with empathy and composure
- Are comfortable learning and navigating multiple computer systems
- Are dependable and detail-oriented
- Have a high school diploma or GED
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic computer skills and ability to navigate multiple applications
- Minimum typing speed of 35 WPM
- Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment background check
- Reliable attendance
