                                                     Domestic Violence Access Coordinator

Recovery Resource Council is looking for a conscientious, detail-oriented, and compassionate individual who is capable of successfully supporting and enhancing the connections between domestic violence service providers and the homeless services system of care through a trauma-informed care lens. The ideal candidate has an understanding of the dynamics of fleeing domestic violence and can partner effectively with victim services providers to ensure clients have access to the coordinated entry system and use resources quickly to stabilize housing for survivors of domestic violence.
 

Competencies, Knowledge, and Qualifications:

  • Understanding of the dynamics of domestic violence and the complex challenges faced by survivors
  • Ability to practice trauma-informed care and client-centered support
  • Strong oral and written communication skills including ability to deliver presentations to a group and facilitate meetings
  • Familiarity with screening and assessment tools
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to plan, organize, set objectives, time frames, and prioritize
  • Knowledge of community resources and ability to network
  • Reliable personal vehicle with applicable Texas insurance is required

Skills / Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related field and experience in social services. Experience working with people experiencing homelessness and/or fleeing domestic violence is strongly preferred. Must have reliable transportation, a currently Texas Driver’s license and evidence of auto liability insurance.
 

Responsibilities:

The DV Access Coordinator ensures access points within the Continuum of Care are operating effectively, cooperatively, and in a streamlined manner for those fleeing domestic violence and who are experiencing homelessness. This position works collaboratively with the Continuum of Care’s Coordinated Entry System to reduce barriers in the process that may prevent those fleeing domestic violence from gaining access to resource within the coordinated entry system. This position provides diversion services to help resolve homelessness quickly. The DV Coordinator is also responsible for completing assessments and HMIS data entry in a timely manner. The DV Coordinator facilitates monthly case conferencing with Victim Services Providers and attends routine community partner meetings.
