A Day in the Life of a Financial Analyst:
As a Financial Analyst, your day is all about diving into data and uncovering insights that drive our financial decisions. You'll analyze financial data, market trends, and economic conditions, turning numbers into actionable information. Your work involves assessing the company's financial performance, preparing detailed reports, and supporting the budgeting and forecasting process to ensure we're meeting our financial goals.
You'll also evaluate potential risks, providing data-driven recommendations that help guide strategic decisions. Success in this role calls for strong analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a solid grasp of financial analysis tools. Responsibilities:
- Act as primary contact for general managers and department heads, providing financial insights
- Conduct monthly trend analyses and variance reviews of financial results and KPIs at both consolidated and branch levels
- Produce monthly branch reports for Executive Management review
- Prepare financial forecasts, including cash flow projections
- Analyze metrics such as weekly sales, DSO, DPO, headcount, backlog, and WIP
- Support annual budget development
- Maintain financial schedules to consolidate North American operations
- Other duties as assigned
- Occasional travel may be required (up to 10%)
Experience & Education:
- 2+ years in FP&A and full-cycle budgeting
- Skilled in financial modeling, variance, and profitability analysis
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial statement analysis
- Proficient with ERP systems (ideally Oracle NetSuite)
- Solid grasp of business/cost drivers and detailed analytics
- Bachelor's in Finance/Accounting; MBA and CPA preferred
