JOB OVERVIEW
Reeder Distributors, Inc. is looking for an experienced Flatbed Driver to join our team in Fort Worth, TX. The primary responsibility of this position is to safely transport and deliver skid-mounted tanks, equipment, and related materials to customer locations throughout the DFW area and surrounding markets.
This position requires a Class A CDL with Hazmat endorsement, flatbed experience, a strong commitment to safety, and knowledge of DOT regulations. The ideal candidate is dependable, mechanically inclined, safety-focused, and comfortable working independently while providing professional service to our customers.
This is primarily a local position with drivers home daily and no overnight routes.
SHIFT AND SCHEDULE
- Full-time position
- Monday through Friday
- Home daily
- No overnight routes
- Overtime as needed
- Weekend availability may be required based on business and customer needs
- Year-round work
COMPENSATION
- Earning potential up to $100,000 annually based on experience, overtime hours, and travel.
FLATBED DRIVER RESPONSIBILITIES
- Safely transport and deliver skid-mounted tanks, equipment, and related materials to customer locations throughout the DFW area and surrounding markets.
- Properly load, secure, transport, and unload equipment and materials in accordance with Company procedures, DOT requirements, and applicable safety regulations.
- Perform required pre-trip, post-trip, and routine vehicle inspections and immediately report safety concerns, damage, defects, or maintenance needs.
- Maintain accurate driver logs, inspection records, delivery documentation, and other required DOT and Company records.
- Follow all applicable DOT regulations, including requirements related to hours of service, safe driving, vehicle inspections, cargo securement, and vehicle maintenance.
- Safely operate assigned Company equipment and maintain responsibility for the cleanliness and general condition of the vehicle.
- Inspect loads and cargo securement throughout transport to ensure equipment remains properly secured and safe for travel.
- Coordinate with dispatch, operations, and other team members regarding deliveries, scheduling, customer needs, and any issues that may impact service.
- Maintain professional and courteous communication with customers while completing deliveries and representing Reeder Distributors.
- Follow all Company safety policies and procedures and maintain a strong commitment to safe driving and accident prevention.
- Assist with equipment-related tasks as needed based on operational and business needs.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required.
- Hazmat endorsement required.
- Tanker endorsement preferred.
- Flatbed driving experience required.
- Commercial driving experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of cargo securement and safe flatbed operating practices.
- Working knowledge of DOT regulations governing commercial driving, hours of service, vehicle inspections, and maintenance requirements.
- Working knowledge of commercial vehicle safety and control systems.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to identify basic equipment or vehicle concerns.
- Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and ability to meet Company driving requirements.
- Ability to safely operate assigned equipment and perform the physical requirements associated with securing and delivering loads.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers, dispatch, management, and other members of the team.
- Dependable, safety-focused, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Must meet all applicable DOT qualification requirements.
- Must successfully complete required pre-employment screening, including drug/alcohol testing, DOT physical requirements, and background screening.
