ACME Electric Company has proudly served Texas since 1958. We are a growing electrical contractor specializing in water/wastewater, industrial, commercial, and mission critical projects. We are seeking an experienced Fleet & Asset Manager to build and lead a best-in-class fleet and equipment management program that supports our continued growth.

Position Summary

This is more than a fleet management position. We are looking for a self-motivated, results-driven professional who will take ownership of our fleet, equipment, and asset operations while continuously identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and support field operations.

The successful candidate will manage approximately 50 company vehicles, trailers, construction equipment, and other company assets while developing systems that improve accountability, reliability, safety, and operational performance.

This position requires someone who works well independently, is highly organized, and can clearly demonstrate measurable value through reporting, analytics, and continuous process improvement.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage the Company's fleet of approximately 50 vehicles, trailers, equipment, and company assets.
  • Develop and oversee preventative maintenance programs to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
  • Coordinate vehicle registrations, inspections, licensing, warranties, recalls, and replacement planning.
  • Maintain fleet safety and regulatory compliance, including company policies and applicable DOT and OSHA requirements.
  • Track equipment utilization, maintenance history, repair costs, fuel usage, and asset lifecycle.
  • Develop and maintain accurate inventory and asset tracking systems.
  • Coordinate repairs and manage relationships with vendors, repair facilities, dealerships, and suppliers.
  • Analyze operating costs and identify opportunities to reduce expenses while improving fleet performance.
  • Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and executive reports that measure fleet efficiency, equipment utilization, maintenance costs, downtime, fuel consumption, and overall cost savings.
  • Present recommendations supported by data that improve operational efficiency and generate measurable financial savings.
  • Establish standardized processes and continually improve fleet and asset management procedures.
  • Work closely with Operations, Project Management, Purchasing, Safety, and Accounting to support company objectives.

Qualifications

  • Minimum five years of fleet, equipment, or asset management experience.
  • Experience managing vehicle fleets and construction equipment.
  • Strong understanding of preventative maintenance programs and fleet operations.
  • Experience with fleet management software, GPS/telematics, and asset tracking systems.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and reporting tools.
  • Excellent communication and vendor management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work, manage multiple projects, and work independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Construction industry experience.
  • Experience managing heavy equipment, trailers, and construction assets.
  • Knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and fleet compliance requirements.
  • Experience developing dashboards, KPIs, and executive reporting.
