Lead overnight planning operations that keep freight moving safely and efficiently.

We are seeking a Lead Logistics Coordinator (Night Shift) to oversee the daily activities of an assigned Planning Center while ensuring equipment, drivers, and resources are utilized safely and efficiently. This leadership role is responsible for coordinating operations, supporting Planning Center employees, optimizing fleet utilization, and partnering with terminal teams to meet customer and operational demands.

What you'll do

  • Oversee the daily activities of an assigned Planning Center during the night shift

  • Promote and maintain a strong commitment to safety in daily operations

  • Communicate and coordinate with Terminal Management to support operational needs

  • Identify driver scheduling needs and partner with terminal personnel to ensure adequate resources are available

  • Coordinate required driver training and loading rack certifications

  • Optimize equipment and driver utilization to maximize efficiency, driver earnings, revenue, and profitability

  • Assist the Regional Planning Manager with overseeing and managing dispatch operations

  • Provide coverage for Logistics Coordinators during planned and unplanned absences

  • Train, coach, and support Planning Center employees

  • Conduct required training and ongoing coaching for Logistics Coordinators

  • Coordinate and communicate load exceptions

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for Planning Center functions and provide operational support as needed

  • Resolve operational issues involving equipment and driver utilization

  • Verify customer order movements, order notes, and operational data for accuracy

  • Review and ensure the accuracy of Call on Demand (COD) orders

  • Ensure Planning Center employees are aware of scheduled tank tests and operational impacts

  • Prepare operational reports requested by management

  • Perform other duties as assigned
     

What you'll bring

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Dispatch experience preferred

  • Understanding of equipment utilization and allocation

  • Leadership or supervisory experience preferred

  • Strong administrative, organizational, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
     

Preferred qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.

  • Tanker industry experience

  • Knowledge of DOT and applicable federal regulations
     

Leadership responsibility

This position provides supervision and leadership for Planning Center employees during the assigned shift.
 

Work environment and physical requirements

This is a night shift position performed primarily in an office environment. The role involves extended periods of computer and telephone work, sitting, occasional walking, and frequent communication with terminals, drivers, and internal business partners.
