Position Summary:Â
Â
The Maintenance Manager provides strategic and operational leadership for the NCCO’s Fort Worth maintenance and reliability functions to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for developing and leading a high performing maintenance organization that maximizes equipment reliability, supports production objectives, and fosters a culture of Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement.Â
The Maintenance Manager is accountable for maintenance planning and execution, asset reliability, preventive and predictive maintenance programs, workforce development, contractor management, spare parts administration, capital improvement support, and effective utilization of maintenance resources. Â

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, but is not limited to:Â
Â
- Safety LeadershipÂ
- Champion a culture where safety is the highest priority and every employee is accountable for safe work practicesÂ
- Ensure compliance with all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), electrical safety, machine guarding, and environmental requirementÂ
- Lead incident investigations, corrective actions, and proactive risk reduction initiativesÂ
- Promote employee participation in safety observations, audits, and continuous improvement activitiesÂ

- Maintenance and Reliability LeadershipÂ
- Develop and execute the site’s maintenance and reliability strategy aligned with business objectivesÂ
- Lead preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance programs to maximize equipment availability and reliabilityÂ
- Establish maintenance priorities based on business criticality, production requirements, and riskÂ
- Ensure effective planning, scheduling, and execution of maintenance workÂ
- Lead root cause failure analysis and implement permanent corrective actions to eliminate recurring failuresÂ
- Drive continuous improvement of equipment performance through reliability engineering principlesÂ
- Support capital projects, equipment installations, commissioning, and lifecycle asset managementÂ

- Operational Excellence and Continuous ImprovementÂ
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement using Lean Manufacturing, TPM, Six Sigma and structured problem-solving methodologiesÂ
- Identify and eliminate waste, reduce equipment losses, and improve maintenance efficiencyÂ
- Develop standardized maintenance procedures and best practicesÂ
- Utilize data and key performance indicators (KPI’s) to identify trends, prioritize improvements, and measure resultsÂ
- Lead Kaizen events and cross-functional improvement initiatives that increase productivity and operational reliabilityÂ
- Promote standard work, visual management, and disciplined execution across the maintenance organizationÂ

- People Leadership and Employee EngagementÂ
- Build highly engaged, accountable, and skilled maintenance team through coaching, mentoring, and leadership developmentÂ
- Foster an environment of trust, collaboration, accountability, and continuous learningÂ
- Establish clear expectations, performance goals, and development plans for maintenance personnelÂ
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide timely coaching and constructive feedbackÂ
- Promote cross-training to improve workforce flexibility and organizational resilienceÂ
- Recognize employee contributions and encourage participation in continuous improvement activitiesÂ
- Develop succession plans for key maintenance positionsÂ

- Maintenance Planning and Asset ManagementÂ
- Develop weekly and monthly maintenance schedules that balance preventive maintenance with production requirementsÂ
- Utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to manage work orders, preventive maintenance schedules, equipment history, and maintenance metricsÂ
- Ensure preventive maintenance activities are completed on schedule and continuously evaluate their effectivenessÂ
- Establish equipment criticality and prioritize maintenance activities based on business riskÂ
- Manage spare parts inventory to ensure critical components are available while managing inventory costÂ

- Technical ResponsibilitiesÂ
- Provide technical expertise in troubleshooting and repairing manufacturing equipment including:Â
- PLC – controlled systemsÂ
- Electrical systems (480VAC, 240VAC, 120VAC, 12-48VDC)Â
- Process ControlsÂ
- Hydraulic and pneumatic systemsÂ
- Compressors, motors, gearboxes, VFDsÂ
- Sensors, solenoids, automation systemsÂ
- Read and interpret electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematicsÂ
- Utilize diagnostic equipment, multimeters, HMIs, and software tools to troubleshoot equipmentÂ
- Coordinate with OEMs, contractors, and technical service providers to resolve complex equipment issuesÂ

- Project and Budget ManagementÂ
- Support capital improvement projects from planning through implementation Â
- Develop maintenance budgets and manage department spendingÂ
- Recommend equipment replacement or upgradesÂ
Â
- Performance Measurement – Monitor Maintenance MetricsÂ
- Utilize performance data to identify improvement opportunities and communicate progress through regular reporting and visual management toolsÂ
- Develop and establish maintenance metrics that will drive the downtime/breakdown reductionÂ

Education & Experience RequirementÂ
 A High School Diploma or GED is requiredÂ
In addition, we require one of the following:Â
- An Associates or Higher degree Â
- 5+ years of progressive industrial maintenance experienceÂ
- 2+ years of experience Managing Maintenance TechniciansÂ
- 4+ years training in the military (e.g. electronics, maintenance, computers)Â
Â
Preferred Education and Experience:Â
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical disciplineÂ
- Previous maintenance leadership or supervisory in a manufacturing environmentÂ
- Experience supporting Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, TPM, or Operational Excellence initiativesÂ
- Experience deploying and/or using a CMMS platformÂ
Must have:Â
- Strong knowledge of industrial maintenance systemsÂ
- Experience with PLC troubleshooting and industrial automationÂ
- Understanding process controls, instrumentation, hydraulics and pneumaticsÂ
- Ability to read electrical, mechanical and pneumatic schematicsÂ
- AutoCAD experience is a plusÂ
- Strong organizational and project management skillsÂ
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skillsÂ
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentÂ
- Strong decision making and conflict resolution abilitiesÂ
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvementÂ
- Ability to analyze data and make informed business decisionsÂ
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on sustainable operationsÂ
- Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Office, and related softwareÂ
- Ability to interact with contractors, vendors, property managers and utility companiesÂ
- Have a valid U.S driver’s licenseÂ
