Job DetailsJob Location: FORT WORTH, TX 76104Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: High SchoolSalary Range: $19.00 - $21.00 HourlyTravel Percentage: NoneJob Shift: DayJob Category: Health CareThe Medical Assistant provides clinical and administrative support to ensure efficient patient care delivery in a medical office environment. Responsibilities include direct patient care, assisting providers with clinical tasks, preparing patients for examinations, and supporting front-office functions as needed. The Medical Assistant performs duties in accordance with clinical protocols, safety standards, and organizational policies. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Prepare exam rooms and assist providers with patient care and procedures  Obtain and document patient vital signs and medical history in EMR (NextGen)  Explain procedures and treatments to patients to promote understanding and comfort  Administer medications and treatments as directed by provider and within certification scope  Observe and document patient conditions, reporting changes to provider promptly  Assist with patient education and discharge instructions as directed by provider  Schedule diagnostic tests and procedures ordered by provider  Answer and triage patient calls; address questions regarding tests, results, and medications; respond same day  Communicate professionally with physician offices, facilities, and vendors; coordinate external scheduling  Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA standards at all times  Work cross-functionally to support clinic operations and maintain workflow  Travel to satellite locations as needed Must have reliable transportation to commute to Weatherford up to 3 times per week Travel stipend available for travel days Perform other duties as assigned  QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education High School Diploma or equivalent Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program Licensure / Certification Nationally Certified Medical Assistant (required) Current BLS certification (required) Experience Prior MA experience or completion of externship preferred Language Skills Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals. Ability to communicate effectively with patients, staff, and providers. Skills & Competencies Proficiency in electronic medical record systems (NextGen preferred)  Strong written and verbal communication skills  Professional telephone etiquette and interpersonal skills  Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize in a fast-paced environment  Strong attention to detail and accuracy  Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment Physical & Mental Requirements Frequent walking, standing, and sitting  Regular use of hands, fingers, and clinical instruments  Occasional bending, stooping, and reaching  Lift/move up to 10 lbs regularly and up to 25 lbs occasionally  Visual acuity required for close work, distance, and peripheral vision; ability to adjust focus  Ability to work in a busy clinical environment and respond calmly under pressure  Competencies Problem Solving & Judgment: Identifies and resolves issues promptly; uses sound reasoning and appropriate judgment, including in fast-paced or sensitive clinical situations; escalates concerns when necessary.  Customer Service & Patient Care: Responds promptly and professionally to patient, staff, and external requests; provides compassionate support; handles difficult or emotional situations with empathy and composure.  Interpersonal Skills: Maintains confidentiality at all times; listens effectively without interrupting; manages conflict calmly and constructively; interacts respectfully and courteously with patients, families, and team members.  Oral Communication: Communicates clearly and professionally; listens actively and seeks clarification as needed; responds appropriately to questions, concerns, and clinical instructions.  Professionalism: Maintains composure under pressure; treats others with respect; demonstrates ethical conduct, accountability, and reliability in all patient-care duties.  Quality & Attention to Detail: Ensures accuracy and thoroughness in documentation, clinical tasks, and workflow; adheres to established standards, safety practices, and patient-care protocols.  Teamwork: Works cooperatively with colleagues; supports team goals; demonstrates a positive attitude and willingness to assist others in delivering high-quality patient care.  Attendance & Dependability: Maintains consistent and timely attendance; ensures responsibilities are covered when absent; follows instructions; meets deadlines; completes work thoroughly and reliably.  Initiative: Takes proactive action; seeks opportunities to assist patients and coworkers; contributes to improving processes and enhancing overall clinic operations; actively pursues learning opportunities.
