Summary:

Cook Children's Health Care System, located in Ft. Worth, TX, is seeking a full-time physiatrist trained in PEDIATRIC REHABILITATION MEDICINE to join our expanding Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Division within the Jane and John Justin Institute for Mind Health.

This position will provide both inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services. The pediatric physiatrist will join our existing physiatrist to provide excellent clinical care to children and adolescents with cerebral palsy, spina bifida, brain injury, and other congenital and acquired pediatric conditions as part of a multidisciplinary team. 

Opening October 2023, the Jane and John Justin Institute for Mind Health was created to provide a single point of care for children with disorders of the nervous system. The Institute’s Vision is to uphold the Promise of Cook Children's, by providing easily accessible, well-coordinated and comprehensive evaluation and treatment. Guided by innovation, research and a relentless dedication to improving patient outcomes and quality of life. The Institute will occupy >100,000 sq feet of clinical space and house the divisions of neurology, neurosurgery, neuropsychology, psychology, psychiatry, developmental pediatrics, pain medicine, and physical medicine and rehabilitation.

Other Programmatic Highlights:

  • Internationally recognized comprehensive cerebral palsy/movement disorders and epilepsy programs

  • The Neurosciences Center includes 21 Pediatric Neurologists, 4- Neurosurgeons, 3-Neuropsychologists, and 2 anesthesia-trained pain management specialists.

  • 26-bed state-of-the-art Neuro-Rehabilitation unit located next to the outpatient clinic

  • Fully integrated motion analysis laboratory

  • Support by more than 100 rehabilitation therapists in the hospital and 4 outpatient therapy centers

  • Comprehensive orthotics/prosthetics program with 3-D printing and an evolving robotics program

Minimum qualifications:

Incumbent must have completed an accredited pediatric Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation program and be board-eligible or board-certified in Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine. 

Must be qualified to obtain an unrestricted Texas Medical License before commencing employment.
