About the Role:

The Pump Test Technician I assembles, maintains, evaluates and installs reciprocating plunger pumps to prepare for testing

Additional Information:

  • Pay: Pay will start at $21.90/hour and can be adjusted based on experience
  • Schedule: Monday through Thursday (4 10 hour shifts) 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM with opportunity for overtime as business demands
  • Relocation assistance is not available for this position

Job Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Connects units to test equipment
  • Assembles and disassembles pump components
  • Analyzes blueprints, schematics, diagrams and drawings to determine fabrication specifications
  • Assemble product per work instructions, Standard Operating Procedures, blueprints, Risk Assessment and job routers
  • Verifies conformance to specifications
  • Maintains routine housekeeping to eliminate workplace hazards
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Required Skills

  • Must be trained and qualified in Autofrettage
  • A current Fort Worth HQ SPM employee in Building A


Physical Demands: 

  • Frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear
  • Required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
  • Must be able to wear protective footwear and other Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by the department

Work Environment: 

  • Regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles
  • Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions
  • Occasionally exposed to high, precarious places and vibration
  • Noise Level: Moderate  

 

 

Summary Pay Range:

$21.90 - $29.30

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
