Position Summary 

The QA/QC Project Apprentice supports field quality activities by assisting with inspections, documentation, and data collection. This role focuses on learning construction quality standards, developing technical understanding, and building strong documentation discipline.

The QA/QC Apprentice works under the direction of QA/QC Specialists, Coordinators, and field leadership to ensure accurate records and consistent execution of quality processes.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with field inspections and testing activities
  • Gather and document quality data, photos, and reports
  • Maintain QA/QC checklists and ensure records are complete and organized
  • Review project drawings and specifications to understand scope requirements
  • Communicate field observations and issues to QA/QC team members
  • Support coordination between field and office for quality-related items
  • Assist in preparing documentation for inspections and project closeout

Required Qualifications

  • 0–3 years of experience in construction or related field
  • Ability to read drawings/specifications
  • Strong attention to detail and organization
  • Honest communication skills
  • Microsoft suite experience (excel, word, outlook)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Have a positive attitude, be professional and self-motivated
  • Ability to work as both an individual contributor and a team player

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of construction processes (mechanical/plumbing preferred)
  • Ability to type 25 WPM preferred
  • OSHA 10 preferred
  • Associates Degree preferred.

Working Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for periods of time; talk or hear; perform fine motor, hand, and finger skills in the use of a keyboard, telephone, or writing. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk; and reach with arms and/or hands. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The employee will spend their time in an office and jobsite environments, conditioned and unconditioned environments, wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) per site conditions.
