  • Work location: Texas Health Southwest, 6100 Harris Parkway, Fort Worth, TX 76132
  • Work hours: Full-time, 36 hours/week, 6:45PM-7:15AM with holiday and weekend requirements, occasional on-call requirement of 1 shift per 6-week schedule.

 

Labor & Delivery Department highlights:

·        Self-Scheduling that helps with work/life balance as well as opportunities for educational and career growth

  • Mother friendly designated, a Texas 10-Step designated, and a Magnet designated facility

·        Expanded Labor & Delivery Unit to a 15-bed LDR and 3 OR suites

·        Separate 26-bed Mother/Baby area and a 16-bed Level III NICU

·        We average 270 to 300 deliveries a month

·        Maternal Level III Designation

·        Participating in Team Birth and CHAMPS breastfeeding initiative



Here’s What You Need

·        Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program OR Nursing Diploma Required

·        BSN preferred

·        RN – Registered Nurse Upon Hire required

·        One-year (1) Year Experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) or completion of an RN residency program Required

·        One year or more of Labor & Delivery RN experience strongly preferred – LDR setting

·        BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required

·        ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 days of hire required

·        NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 days

·        NRPA - Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program 90 Days Required

·        AWHONN - Advanced Fetal Monitoring 6 Months Required Or
IFM - Intermediate Fetal Monitoring 6 Months Required

·        CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually 90 Days Required

·        Ability to triage, labor, deliver, circulate and recover patients

·        A high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.

 

What You Will Do

Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process

·        Assesses the patient

·        Plans the care of the patient

·        Intervenes as appropriate

·        Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions

·        Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.

·        Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information

·        Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
