  • Candidates must be at least 18 years old, possess a valid driver’s license, and be able to obtain a Texas Department of Public Safety Private Security Bureau Non-Commission license within 6 months.

Work Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Summary: 
This position will Install, maintain, and inspect Zoo electronic security equipment and key systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Install and maintain locks and access control devices
• Install and maintain CCTV equipment
• Install and maintain fire, burglary, and life safety systems
• Install and maintain perimeter gates and motors
• Schedule and assist in the inspection and maintenance of backflow devices, fire sprinkler/extinguisher and fire detection systems
• Assist with security related functions as needed
• Assist with emergency response as needed
• Assist with security staff as needed
 
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
• Familiarity with electronics and electronics testing equipment
• Ability to learn proprietary hardware and software configuration and maintenance aspects
• Ability to work in fast paced, high stress environment 
• Attention to aesthetics and a penchant for creativity
• Ability to complete work orders in a timely manner
• Valid driver license with acceptable motor vehicle record to maintain zoo standards of insurability
• Must be able to obtain a valid Texas Department of Public Safety Private Security Bureau Non-Commission license within 6 months

Education and/or Experience:
• Experience with electronics maintenance and repair
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Experience as a locksmith or alarm installer preferred

Physical Demands: 
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.  The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
