Job Summary: This is not a full-time position, as needed

Provide security for patients, employees, and visitors; protect hospital buildings, assets, and premises as assigned.

Essential Functions:

INVESTIGATES AND PATROLS:

  • Patrol by vehicle and on foot all hospital buildings and campus grounds at Phoebe Worth Medical Center to detect, deter or address criminal activity or unauthorized personnel, following department policy and procedure.
  • On a daily basis, inspect all access points to hospital authority building and internal offices. Securing same when not occupied, following department policy and procedure.
  • Respond immediately to authorized requests for access to internal offices. Identifies and corrects fire/safety hazards and violations of fire safety codes and hospitals locations.
  • Investigates, as received, incidents of possible criminal activity such as, but not limited to, assaults, vandalism, burglary, thefts, vehicle accidents, employ/visitors injuries, codes and hazardous waste disposal necessitating immediate documentation and referral.
  • Reports documenting pertinent information, following investigation. standard pertaining to who, what, when, where, why, and how.
  • Coordinates with the appropriate law enforcement and /government agencies with all information relevant to investigation reports as required, following department policy and procedures.
  • Provides assistance to Nursing/Mental Health Staff in the restraint process of patients and /or in the escort and control of unrestrained patients, using proper body mechanics and adhering to safety precautions for self and patient upon request.
  • Greet customers upon arrival, identify yourself and obtain name and reason for visit. Offer assistance as needed.

Additional Duties:

  • Adheres to the hospital and departmental attendance and punctuality guidelines.
  • Performs all job responsibilities in alignment with the core values, mission and vision of the organization.
  • Performs other duties as required and completes all job functions as per departmental policies and procedures.
  • Maintains current knowledge in present areas of responsibility (i.e., self education, attends ongoing educational programs).
  • Attends staff meetings and completes mandatory in-services and requirements and competency evaluations on time.
  • Demonstrates competency at all levels in providing care to all patients based on age, sex, weight, and demonstrated needs. For non-clinical areas, has attended training and demonstrates usage of age- specific customer service skills.
  • Wears protective clothing and equipment as appropriate.

Education:

High School Diploma or GED - Required

Work Experience:

1 years healthcare security and or Law Enforcement field with guard service or military police. Preferred
