Job DetailsJob Location: FORT WORTH, TX 76106Job Category: General LaborEngine Response Technician Position Summary The Engine Response Technician is responsible for rapid response repair and correction of engine hardware discrepancies identified during disassembly, inspection, and build. This role specializes in stud repair and replacement, threaded insert installation, nut plate installation, minor component repairs, and coordination of outside vendor repairs to prevent production delays. The position plays a critical role in maintaining engine build flow, reducing turnaround time, and controlling repair costs. 聽 Essential Duties and Responsibilities Rapid Response Hardware Repair 路 Remove and replace damaged or incorrect studs. 路 Install threaded inserts (Heli-Coil, Keensert, etc.) per OEM specifications. 路 Drill, tap, and restore damaged threaded holes. 路 Install nut plates and approved fastening systems. 路 Perform minor non-structural repairs in accordance with CMM/SRM limits. 路 Repair stripped threads and hardware attachment points. 路 Ensure proper torque application and hardware installation per specifications. Production Support 路 Respond quickly to discrepancies identified during inspection or build. 路 Minimize engine build stoppages due to hardware issues. 路 Work closely with inspection, assembly, and quality departments. 路 Support on-time engine delivery schedules. Outside Repair Management 路 Identify parts requiring outside repair services. 路 Coordinate shipment and tracking of components sent to vendors. 路 Monitor turnaround times to avoid production delays. 路 Review returned documentation for compliance and completeness. 路 Communicate repair status to Production Control and Management. Compliance & Documentation 路 Interpret CMMs, service bulletins, and engineering drawings. 路 Perform repairs in compliance with FAA Part 145 Repair Station requirements. 路 Accurately document all work performed in work orders and repair records. 路 Maintain tool control and use calibrated equipment. QualificationsQualifications 路 High school diploma or equivalent required. 路 2+ years aviation engine shop or maintenance experience preferred. 路 Machinist or tool-making experience strongly preferred. 路 Experience operating drill presses, taps, reamers, and precision measuring instruments. 路 Experience with threaded insert systems and aviation hardware repair. 路 Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and engineering drawings. 路 Familiarity with business jet engines (TFE731, HTF7000, CFE738 preferred). 路 Knowledge of FAA Part 145 Repair Station procedures preferred. 聽 Key Competencies 路 Strong mechanical aptitude 路 Precision drilling and thread repair expertise 路 High sense of urgency 路 Strong attention to detail 路 Ability to work independently under schedule pressure 路 Effective communication skills 聽 Performance Impact This role directly supports: 路 Reduced engine turnaround time (TAT) 路 Decreased outside repair costs 路 Improved first-pass yield 路 Increased shop profitability
