Job Description Summary: 

In this role, the Material Handler performs shop order-picking away activities associates with an assigned area of the warehouse. 

  • Utilizes the ERP system (BPCS/LX) to perform inventory transactions and inquiries, including the use of mobile bar code devices

  • Optimizes storage locations based on part velocity and volume policies

  • Acts as back-up for multiple areas when required
  • Operates mobile equipment, such as forklifts, man-lifts, pallet jacks, to move material
  • Assures that material counts are accurately reflected in the system and material is stored according to defined policies and procedures
  • Operates material handling equipment (forklift, order pickers, pallet jacks)
  • Able to identify part types and methods of storage associated with assigned area
  • Performs put-away and picking functions utilizing BPCS bar code devices
  • Maintains accurate stock counts, locations and product IDs in assigned areas
  • Rearrange material as directed for optimization
  • Initiates and maintains all applicable paperwork as required
  • Follows all safety rules and practices
  • May be involved in safety committees or initiatives
  • Performs other duties as assigned


 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum six months’ forklift operating experience
  • Minimum six months’ experience working in team environment
  • Minimum six months’ data entry experience
  • Experience in warehousing activities requiring high level of precision and productivity
