Job Overview

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Metal Rack Repair / Fabrication Technician to join our team. This role involves repairing, modifying, and fabricating metal rack systems, with a strong focus on MIG welding and quality workmanship.

This is a hands-on position ideal for someone who enjoys working with metal, takes pride in craftsmanship, and can work independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Repair and modify metal rack systems to meet customer specifications
  • Perform MIG welding (approximately 50% of the role)
  • Inspect returned racks and assess repair or modification needs
  • Weld assemblies to meet quality and safety standards
  • Set up and operate MIG welding equipment
  • Use bolts, clamps, and tack welds to secure materials during fabrication
  • Conduct final inspections and perform touch-ups as needed
  • Accurately track materials used, quantities, and time in the system
  • Operate forklifts to move materials safely
  • Follow all safety policies and standard operating procedures
  • Travel to customer sites as needed to complete repairs
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 1–3 years of related experience or training in welding/fabrication
  • Experience with MIG welding required
  • Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions
  • Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide)
  • Strong attention to detail and quality standards

Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Good communication skills for team and customer interaction
  • Physical ability to lift, move, and work with large metal components
  • Comfortable working with heavy equipment and tools
