Job Overview
The Account Manager (AM)Â owns execution of customer programs across the full quote-to-cash lifecycle for assigned accounts. This role serves as the primary point of contact and customer advocate while driving internal coordination to ensure on-time delivery, margin performance, and overall program success.
This is a hands-on, operations-focused role within a fast-paced contract manufacturing environment. The Account Manager operates with a high level of ownership and accountability, partnering closely with Sales, Operations, Engineering, Sourcing, Accounting, and Customer Experience to successfully execute both new and existing programs. Success in this role requires direct involvement in customer communication, production coordination, scheduling, and order execution
What You'll Do:
Customer Ownership
- Serve as the primary point of contact and advocate for assigned customer accountsÂ
- Build and maintain strong, long-term customer relationshipsÂ
- Lead customer communications including meetings, calls, and periodic site visitsÂ
Program & Order Execution
- Own execution of customer accounts through the full quote-to-cash lifecycle, from initial quotation through shipment and cash collectionÂ
- Support onboarding of new customers and new programs, ensuring successful launch and internal alignmentÂ
- Provide proactive order status updates, delivery schedules, and open order reporting to customersÂ
- Drive on-time delivery performance across assigned accountsÂ
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Collaborate with Sales, Operations, Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Accounting, and Customer Experience to meet customer requirementsÂ
- Coordinate manufacturability, feasibility, and delivery commitments with internal teamsÂ
- Drive accountability and clear communication across cross-functional stakeholdersÂ
Commercial & Pricing Management
- Manage RFQs, re-quotes, and ongoing pricing activitiesÂ
- Coordinate material costs, labor inputs, and pricing updates with internal teamsÂ
- Support margin performance through effective pricing and cost awarenessÂ
Planning & Forecasting
- Manage customer forecasts, blanket orders, and Kanban programsÂ
- Coordinate material pipelines and demand changes with Supply Chain and Production teamsÂ
- Support alignment between customer demand and internal production planningÂ
Issue Resolution & Continuous Improvement
- Proactively identify and resolve delivery, quality, or supply chain issues impacting customer commitmentsÂ
- Manage customer escalations and drive timely resolutionÂ
- Track quote outcomes, including closed-lost business, and provide feedback to support continuous improvementÂ
Systems & Reporting
- Utilize ERP/MRP systems to track orders, forecasts, and account performanceÂ
- Provide customer forecasts and sales-related reporting to Sales LeadershipÂ
- Maintain accurate documentation of customer requirements and program detailsÂ
Additional Responsibilities
- Perform other duties as required to support business needs
Must-Have Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent requiredÂ
- 2+ years of experience in account management, program management, or related roles within a manufacturing environment
- Experience managing customer orders, delivery schedules, forecasts, and open order reporting
- Experience coordinating cross-functionally with production, planning, purchasing, engineering, or supply chain teams
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining strong attention to detail
- Experience handling delivery expedites, schedule changes, or supply chain-related issues
- Exposure to quoting, RFQs, pricing coordination, or cost-related discussions
- Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and manufacturing workflows
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
Bonus Points If You Have:
- Experience in contract manufacturing, cable/harness assembly, electromechanical assembly, or molding environments
- Aerospace & Defense industry experience
- Experience supporting high-mix / low-volume manufacturing environments
- Familiarity with Kanban programs, blanket orders, or customer forecasting processes
Compensation Range:
$70,000 - $90,000/year + bonus
