About the Role:
Benson Animal Hospital PA is looking for a passionate and dedicated Veterinary Assistant to join our caring team in Benson, NC! In this role, you'll play a vital part in providing exceptional medical care and compassionate support to our animal patients and their owners. Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, procedures, and surgeries
- Restrain and handle animals safely and humanely during treatments
- Prepare exam rooms and ensure a clean, sanitized clinical environment
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian
- Collect and process laboratory samples including blood draws and urinalysis
- Communicate with pet owners regarding care instructions and follow-up appointments
- Maintain accurate patient medical records and documentation
Requirements:
- Prior experience in a veterinary clinic or animal care setting preferred
- Comfortable handling and restraining animals of all sizes and temperaments
- Knowledge of basic veterinary medical terminology and procedures
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment
- Compassionate, dependable, and a true team player
- High school diploma or equivalent required; veterinary assistant certification a plus
