About the Role:

The FV Production-Forklift operator plays a critical role in the manufacturing process by efficiently and safely handling materials and products within the production facility. This position ensures the smooth flow of raw materials, components, and finished goods by operating forklifts to transport items to designated locations. The role requires close collaboration with production teams to meet daily operational targets and maintain inventory accuracy. Attention to safety protocols and equipment maintenance is paramount to prevent accidents and minimize downtime. Ultimately, this position contributes to the overall productivity and quality standards of the manufacturing operation.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Valid forklift operator certification or license in accordance with OSHA standards.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience operating forklifts in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
  • Basic understanding of safety regulations related to material handling and forklift operation.
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders, labels, and inventory documentation.
  • Physical ability to perform manual labor including lifting, standing, and operating machinery for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment within the food and beverage or fresh produce sector.
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) or inventory tracking software.
  • Additional certifications related to workplace safety or equipment operation.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced production setting.
  • Strong communication skills to coordinate with multiple departments.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate forklifts to move raw materials, work-in-progress items, and finished products within the production area.
  • Load and unload materials from trucks, storage racks, and production lines safely and efficiently.
  • Inspect forklifts daily to ensure proper functioning and report any maintenance needs promptly.
  • Coordinate with production supervisors and warehouse personnel to prioritize material handling tasks.
  • Maintain accurate records of materials moved and assist with inventory control procedures.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety guidelines and company policies to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Assist in organizing the warehouse and production floor to optimize space and workflow.
