SENIOR FINANCIAL ANALYST

Framingham

 

Salary Range: $75,000.00 to $90,000.00/year dependingon a candidate’s specific skill set, qualifications, and years of relevant experience including related industry experience.

 

Job Overview:

The Senior Financial Analyst is a key member of the Finance team and reports to the Chief Financial Officer.  The experienced professional will also work directly with the Controller and Director of Revenue on a regular basis.  This individual will be the lead for providing financial support to the agency including regular analysis and reporting on the agency’s financial position, developing annual budgets and forecasts, and leading quality improvement and finance transformation initiatives.

 

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

 

Work Experience

  • 4+ years of accounting and financial planning and analysis experience;
  • Prior experience as a Senior Financial Analyst, Financial Analyst or similar role preferred
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and accrual basis accounting
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and data analysis
  • Understands key business drivers and  has experience developing and measuring key metrics and KPIs

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participates in month-end close process, prepares, reviews and analyzes monthly financial statements and reports,performs appropriate research and reports results
  • Performs P&L and balance sheet review and analysis ensuring accuracy of account balances, effectively identifies and resolves findings
  • Work with CFO to develop and standardize reporting of key business metrics and KPIs
  • Lead role in developing the agency’s annual capital and operating budgets, working directly with CFO, component Vice Presidents, and Senior Program Directors
  • Leads quality improvement and finance transformation initiatives, strives to improve business process and procedures, provides recommendations and implements change
  • Prepares financial forecasts and projections for new programs or projects as needed
  • Builds trusting relationships with management team and engages with them to review program financial statements monthly, to help interpret and understand their results and provide ongoing financial support
  • Directly involved in annual audits including year-end financial audit, Single Audit, and preparation and filing of annual Uniform Financial Report (UFR)
  • Provides support to Contract Revenue billing team
  • Responsible for other finance and accounting projects as needed

 

Requirements and Skills: 

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently, with little direction, or collaborate as part of a team
  • Adept at interpreting and analyzing data and presenting financial information and analyses in a concise and easily comprehensible manner to a non-financial audience
  • Ability to work with and provide training to managers with varying levels of knowledge of how to read and interpret financial reports and information
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; communication is clear, effective, and professional at all times
  • Demonstrates flexibility and creative thinking; ability to adapt and adjust to changing work situations, processes, and procedures
  • Effective at managing multiple concurrent tasks and/or projects
  • Ability to complete job requirements and projects on time and meet deadlines, even in high pressure situations 
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point)
  • Expertise in Excel including building effective spreadsheets, using advanced formulas, pivot tables, and graphs to present data in a way that is meaningful to specific audiences
  • Experienced with ERP systems
