Full Time Cook - rotating weekends

Creative Dining Services at Stewart Home School is looking for a Full Time Cook in Frankfort, KY.

Working in a commissary kitchen, we prep and serve approximately 350 people three meals per day, every day. Rewarding work location within a team of friendly, caring co-workers. This Cook role works within the Dining Services Department to ensure that high quality, properly seasoned, nutritious food is being provided throughout the operation, in a fiscally responsible and safe manner. 

Availability:  9:30am to 6:00pm, every other weekend off. This is a year-round position, some holidays will be required.

Physical Demands/Work Environment

Besides involving the physical work of preparing food in a commercial kitchen environment, responsibilities will include moving inventory, product, carts, tables, etc., as well as food preparation and production using kitchen utensils and commercial kitchen equipment. Environment may include hot, humid or cold temperatures, and meal delivery tasks will involve moving carts, hot boxes, pans, etc. in and out of a delivery vehicle, over ramps, steps or through doors, in good or bad weather. 

May require extended working hours at times. Must be able to lift and carry 25 lbs.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Experience with specialized dietary needs and/or restrictions
• Experience with high-volume cooking 
• Minimum of 2 years cooking experience
• High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required
• ServSafe Certification
• Valid driver's license
