POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Land Nutrient Specialist helps oversee the organization鈥檚 environmental performance and ensures farms are operating sustainably while also complying with State & Federal environmental regulations.聽


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

路 Prepare, organize, and administer manure management plans

路 Discuss manure plan requirements to farmers, customers, manure applicators, and other necessary individuals

路 Maintain databases of information pertaining to the manure plans and soil samples

路 Assist in organizing and coordinating manure application including record keeping

路 Ensure farm environmental record keeping is maintained across numerous states

路 Conduct periodic farm visits to ensure environmental compliance is followed

路 Monitor mortality management and troubleshoot issues

路 Understand and ensure compliance with biosecurity protocols

Requirements

聽QUALIFICATIONS

-Preferred 2 or 4 year degree in an agricultural related field

-Preferred skill in using computers, Microsoft Office, and mapping software to manage databases (GIS)

-General agriculture knowledge


JOB REQUIREMENTS

-Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision

-Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand and process data and develop recommendations and action plans

-Occasional travel is required

-Excellent communication skills

-Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships

-About 70% of this job is office and 30% is field time
