Position Summary

Under routine supervision of the Manufacturing Supervisor, the Manufacturing Associate will perform manual labor along a production line. Manufacturing Associate operates and troubleshoots production line machinery and computers. Manufacturing Associate may also perform minor repairs as necessary.

SHIFT: 12 hour day shift 8am-8:30pm Rotating weeks. Week 1: Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday Week 2: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday

  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking on the production floor.

Work Environment:

  • Wear proper protective equipment while performing job duties (i.e., Bump Cap, safety glasses, ear plugs, gloves, face shield, etc.)
  • Occasionally come into contact with various petroleum products such as lubricating oil, hydraulic oil, forming oil and grease.
  • Moderate noise level.
  • Frequently exposed to hot, wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles

Essential Tasks

(Associate must be able to perform the following functions to the satisfaction of the associate’s supervisor.)

  • Operate production line machinery and computers
  • Troubleshoot production machinery.
  • Perform equipment change-overs
  • Responsible for quality control, including the use of measurement tools and making adjustments as necessary to produce within specifications. 
  • Inspect product and reject product outside of specifications.
  • Operate within standard operating procedures (SOP’s) and Job Safety Analysis (JSA’s).
  • Complete daily production logs.
  • Perform preventative maintenance (PM’s) on production line machinery.
  • Communicate with operators from other shifts.
  • Clean and maintain work area. 
  • Turn off and lock out equipment when not in use.
  • Assist mechanics and machinists in repair work.
  • Perform back-up for warehouse.
  • Provide on-the-job training to new employees.
  • Order raw materials. Maintain material supply adhering to just in time manufacturing principles.

 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

  • This is a full time position, and hours of work are on an 8 hr. shift. This position may also be required to work Monday-Friday 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift, eight hours a day to assist with shift coverage. Overtime may be required occasionally.
